Drifter

Reworked my first palette knife painting, evening out the planes of the water. I’m much happier with it now.

Custom floater frames

Ineeded to make some custom floater frames for these paintings because the lip of the frames cut off the edge of the canvas, which was needed for the sake of composition. = fun with my Dremmel!

PROJECT COMPLETE!

One year of daily apple artwork posts? DONE. Woo-boo!

So that works out to be 301 completed artworks and 57 in-progress posts, including  a week of Paint Annapolis plein air work. Go me! My grandfather used to say, “He who tooteth not his own horn—said horn shall not be tooted.” So toot toot!

From this point I need to decide what to do. Blogger is dropping its feedburner functionality so daily emails will stop soon. But I think I will continue posting. Maybe not daily, and I plan to take a break from apples (!), tho I may see if I can complete a round 365 eventually. I will continue to also post on Instagram and Facebook.

Thank you for taking this ride with me. What started out as a whim resulted in SO much growth and learning and experience!

And here is where I plug my shop—help me celebrate by getting me back in the black! I’m in the red from supplies and entry fees again. Every little bit helps! Make a celebratory purchase or donation! Every little bit helps and all are so appreciated.

6/7/2021 Paint Annapolis Day 2

Today I sat at one of the cafe tables at Siri’s Crepes and attempted to paint the US Naval Academy’s Halsey Field House. The pic here doesn’t do it justice but it seems to have a copper roof with a really interestingly varied patina. Here is my sketch. I got some good painting done on it too but it’s out in the car and my feet and ankles are swollen from sitting with a metal cafe chair digging into the backs of my thighs for 5 hours. So I’ll post that tomorrow. The apple was still in my backpack so I’ll defer to my pic of that from yesterday.
