09-11-2020 Ghana

Just a quick note that I have added a couple of pages to the Blog website, showing some of my non-apple art. The jewelry in this photo are all gifts from my bestie while she lived in Ghana. So of course I stuck them in an apple.

IconAccidental photo study #1

*** DISCLAIMER!!! This was TRACED from a photo and painted using many layers and next to the photo I can see all these things wrong with it but I have to be done now so I can make dinner so this is it for today—it’s only a study. I’ll be doing several of these before I try painting it myself. Also, yes, I have her permission to paint this photo.  ***

08-20-2020 Play deconstructed

This was really fun. I may do more of these. I cut pieces from original image (below, titled “Play” because I was playing around with the watercolor brushes and not working from life), and moved/resized them. Then I used the recolor feature and liked the addition of greens & yellows.

08-20-2020 Circles

Hi all  I’m playing with something new. A professional artist-friend of mine uses Ko-fi (like “no-fee”) to accept donations, make sales, and accept commissions  I’m just trying the free parts of the service that allow me to accept donations and have thrown a “support” button on the blog website in case anyone feels like buying me a chai latte whenever they’d like. 😋  The button will be in the upper right corner of the website.

And without further ado, here is today’s apple:

08–09-2020 My private island

This apple is part of Julia K Burzon’s “An Apple A Day” project and blog (Copyright 2020 all rights reserved). Follow her blog at appleaday4u.blogspot.com
Just for the record, coming home from vacation sucks.

And no, I didn’t mean to go all Georgia O’Keefe on you (tho that’s a direction that does interest me). I was trying to use the bottom of the Apple as an island. I am particularly pleased with the water in this one.
