Progress on my current commission: I’m working on the sky right now. Highlights will go on the water soon and then I’ll do the boats.

This was a commission. I had done a similar conversion last year, which was then printed on aluminum and hangs in their home, of the wife of the couple in a kayak. This one is of the husband in a dragon boat. 

This is the completed painting. The original photo and painting of the kayak are below. 

Hospice Cup Pster Competition 2025

 Here is my entry. Of course there are things I see now that should be different but I ran out of time. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Which composition do you like better? I submitted the cropped one but now that I look I’m not sure I like it more now.

 Futzed with this more today and still am not there. I mean, it’s completely reworked, but I’m still not satisfied with my understanding of how to do these ripples. We’ll get there eventually.

 Banged my head against the proverbial wall today working on water. Ended u- here but did many more. There’s a trick to it that I’ve just not figured out yet.
