03/15/21 Iconaccidental Study 2—Final

I was not satisfied with this as it was. She looked like a zombie to me. I added shading/contouring/highlighting/color and tweaked the saturation and am much more satisfied with this version. Still not really realistic, but I guess that’s what cameras are for.

03/11/12 Amphitrite x Pele | Fire & Water

I’ve made a fire every day for at least a couple of months now.  It’s become very important. Something that’s MINE. So my therapist’s like do an image about that. Only when I contemplated it I kept thinking of all the people who were killed with fire on purpose (witches, heretics, victims of terrorists) and how awful that is. So I surrounded her with water to make it safe.

03/10/2021 North Street fixed

So, it turns out I got the roofline wrong. Fixed.

3/10/21 Buoy

Enhanced original analog painting (watercolor and acrylic) in ProCreate. Original image + make-up #1 from this week.

03/10/21 High Priestess enhanced in ProCreate

Here’s another analog watercolor painting enhanced in Using Procreate. This is from my Tarot Card project  but I put an apple on the coffee cup sleeve just for you!

And the original

Original is on the right  I think I may add back the yellow to the moon....

Oops.

Looks like I’ve been remiss and owe you 2 day’s posts. I’ll get right on that. I’ve been doing work but it’s unfinished and I just didn’t get pics up but thought I had. After this long it runs together a bit.

03/08/21 Five Birds

Here’s the apple that Three Birds was missing + some other tweaks.

My therapist was in favor of a detail just focusing on the yellow form (originally from an art therapy Group work related to a variety of specialty honey that has great meaning for me—Basswood Honey. If you haven't tried it, you are missing out on an essential life experience.) So here is that as well.

Here is the original art therapy piece:

03/03/2021 Three Birds

So I realized on 3/7/2021 that there is no apple here. Not to fear.  See 3/8/2021’s post

2/26/21 Icon Accidental study continues…

Worked today on jewelry and the apple hand, mostly. Added more mottling to the skin. Made background fully black. Image has 3 days snapshots here together with today’s being the rightmost. Maybe 75% done?

02/25/21 Inside Outside

I seem to be really drawn to this color right now, which is interesting because I spent a lot of my life with a very strong aversion to pink. But this crazy-strong ultra-watermelon is really doing something for me right now. When I was doing this, I was listening to an audiobook where the protagonists were really misunderstanding each other and feeling betrayed. No idea how that plays into what it is, but there you go.

02/23/21 Icon Accidental study—In Progress

Does this look familiar? I’m giving it another go.  I saw this photo of @iconaccidental (Instagram) back in the summer and thought, "I've SO got to turn that orange into an apple!" I did one stab at it back then and it was OK but I intend to keep doing them until I finally am able to do an analog painting (no "undo button") of this without gridding it out and absolutely copying the photo.

For this try, I'm still tracing the outlines of shapes and recoloring things myself, checking against the photo and correcting as I go. I'd say I'm maybe 50% done now. Definitely more to do with the hair, jewelry, skin texture, coloring, etc. Pretty much everything. Gah! People are worse than waves!
