I am working on a number of pieces with the idea of celebrating the mature woman’s body and perhaps imagining a right of passuage where to attain such a body would be desired, celebrated, and admired because those who attain such a likeness, akin to that of the “earth mother” archetype, would be seen as having achieved a level of greatness, like “leveling-up” in a game, because they more approximate Her. What if the proven, survived, mature woman’s body were prized over that of the unproven, inexperienced, nubile female body? So, just showing part here as it’s in progress.

Darn. Looks like a stray pink swish got saved. Will fix and replace. SMH. 

Completed,  along with some laundry, a basket of apples, deer, and the infamous bear my grandmother chased from that back porch with a broom!

Things are heating up re: getting out holiday gifts while dealing with kids’ school etc. so I’m continuing to do things that are easy for now. Worked some more on getting this colored in....

12/13/2020 Contemporary Xmas Tree 3.0—In progress

I decided to use a pre-made palette to see what this will look like with more muted colors (which are  against my grain to choose). I still find myself pulling the brighter colors from there too.... will work on that.

 One of those days where I swear I erased and redrew more than ever remained to be seen. Then I messed that up and had to delete layers and start over again. Arghhhh!
