MFA Studio Tours - What I'm sending to 49 West Restaurant Exhibit

I'm submitting 3 here. I was tempted to choose apple works, or Herman again but I wanted to put out something different, so I kept with the theme of places and chose these:

Flyby (Fenwick Island, DE)
8x10" acrylic on canvas panel

We Were Here (Mount Tabor Good Samaritan Lodge No. 59, Crownsville, MD)
10x8" acrylic on canvas panel

Halsey from Eastport
7x5" acrylic on canvas

MFA Studio Tours - What I'm sending to Circle Gallery

It is so hard to decide what to send! Officially sending in my choices as submissions always stresses me out so. I want to choose ones that all have nothing to do each other if I were to choose my favorites and that doesn't work because, as I understand, it's desirable for any grouping of your work to seem cohesive. In any case, these 2 are what I will be delivering to the gallery:

MFA Studio Tours 2022

I am participating in the Maryland Federation of Art's first Studio Tours event Saturday, April 30-Sunday May 1, 2022. Since my "studio" is in my home in Crofton, I will temporarily share a space with the gracious and talented Elizabeth Kendall (at SoCo Arts Lab, 312 Deale Rd, Tracys Landing, MD 20779). Although I won't be having this painting hanging in MFA's Circle Gallery as part of the event, it is what I submitted when applying to participate.  This was the first painting I did using my new easel that I got for Christmas and reclaimed a truly terrible canvas.

Assembling entries for Paint Annapolis 2022

I’d love to be a juried artist for this but I don’t know if I’ll

make the bar. I want to do at least one more painting and then we’ll see. Each of these is a 1-session work. The Annapolis one needs touch-ups so no close-up pic yet.

Plein Air in Crownsville, MD

All framed -up and ready to go!

Ready to be delivered to MFA next week for Digital Directions 2022.

Stretching my own canvas

 40x60”

Turns out of you need to tighten up a wave in the canvas you just paint the back with water. Who knew?  I may have to redo the corners tho. I’d like them to be smother.
